To really become good at anything, a man needs to learn from the best – at least that’s the philosophy behind “50 Things Every Guy Should Know How to Do” by Daniel Kline and Jason Tomaszewski (Plume, $14).

The book contains advice from celebrities and experts on everything a guy needs to know to become a well-rounded male. Who better to learn from than someone who has already succeeded in the field? As the introduction says, “You may not want to go to a ball game with Richard Simmons, but he’s helped more people lose weight than a river of cabbage soup and the South Beach Diet put together.” There’s a chapter by a professional wrestler on how to win a fight, another by a former NFL quarterback on how to throw a perfect pass and advice from an adult film star on how to get a date.

The book contains advice on dozens of topics, which range from serious (how to file for bankruptcy), to humorous (how to get on a reality show), to fantasy (how to have a threesome). But most of them are just helpful things that could come in handy in an everyday situation, like how to order a drink or pick a movie. However practical or impractical the situation may be, “50 Things Every Guy Should Know How to Do” has it covered with credible advice from well-known names.
