LEWISTON – Jeanne “Jeannette” E. Caron, 90, of Webber Avenue, died Thursday evening, June 29, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on May 4, 1916, the daughter of James and Eva (Goulet) Auger.

She attended schools in Lewiston where she had been a resident all her life.

She worked for 25 years until her retirement at the Holy Cross School cafeteria as a cook and server.

She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and was an avid bingo player.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church.

Jeannette is now with the love of her life, her husband, Joseph O. Caron, whom she married on July 1, 1939, and who died on Feb. 20, 1990.

She is survived by her son, Richard J. Caron and his wife, Arline, of Bangor; her daughter, Jeannine Caron of Lewiston; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer Holmes, Stephanie Blanchard, John Johansen, and Tom, Michael, Mitchell, Lydia, Desiree, Jeremy, Amanda, Jessica, Tanya, Erin and Mercedes Caron; 19 great-grandchildren, Tracy, Renee, Sarah, Joshua, Mary, Gabriel, Micah, Meghan, Abigail, Alexander, Grace, Samuel, Chandler, Gus, Grace, Blake, Jacob, Trevor and Danny; and four great-great-grandchildren, Paris, Autumn, Vanessa and Isaiah.

She also leaves four sisters, Blanche Wright and Irene Boisvert, both of Lewiston, Simonne O’Brien of Augusta, and Anita Marshall of New York; sisters-in-law, Emily Auger, Bertha Gravel of Lewiston, and Theresa Bouchard of Florida.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Roland, Lucien and Romeo; and four sisters, Marguerite, Lucille, Olivette and Muriel.
