SKOWHEGAN – Pauline Elizabeth Card Wieden, 86, of Madison, died July 1, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital.

She was born March 9, 1920, in Houlton, the daughter of Harvard and Meta G. (Springer) Card. She attended high school in Houlton and got her teaching certificate at Aroostook State Normal School and Gorham State College.

Pauline married her best friend and soul mate, Lindley L. Wieden, on June 26, 1946, in Stockholm, with his father officiating. They lived in Boston, Springfield, Vt., Rocky Hill, Conn., Dexter, Livermore, and then Bethel for 23 years. In 2003, they moved to Madison to be near family. She was a members of the First Congregational Church of Norridgewock.

Pauline was a gem to everyone, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her life.

She leaves her husband; five children and spouses, Sylvia and Blaine Miller, Cynthia Paine and (fianc) Michael Friedmann, Stephen Wieden, Catherine and Thomas Sands, and Priscilla Hansen; grandchildren, Adele McIntyre, Christal Siren, Lon Miller, Amy Collins, Jameson Paine, Amber Jansen, Seth and Joshua Sands, Ashley Bureau, Jennie Warren, and Emily and Anna Hansen; great-grandchildren, Miles and Caleb McIntyre, Ella Siren, Clayton and Colby Miller, Sophie and Sean Collins and Makenzie Sands.
