Lewiston – Joseph (Bert) Rossignol, 77, of Lisbon Road, Sabattus, died Sunday, July 2, at Central Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Frenchville on May 3, 1929, a son of the late Hilaire and Edith (Bourgoin) Rossignol. Bert married the former Lucienne Bouchard in Lewiston on May 27, 1950, and together they started their family.

He was a member of Holy Cross Church and worked for many years at Pittsfield Industries and worked for Marden’s until his retirement. He loved his family, gardening and riding his John Deer tractor, and will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and practical jokes.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Lucienne Rossignol of Sabattus; four sons, Daniel and wife, Dolores, of New York, Dudley and wife, Sue, of Litchfield, David and wife, Sandra, of Sabattus and Donald and wife, Cathy, of Litchfield; two sisters, Rachel Chasse and husband, Norman, of Madawaska and Theresa Brown of Lewiston; a brother, Jean-Paul Thibeault and wife, Arlene, of Litchfield; nine grandchildren, Sonya Keling, Kent and Jake Bader, Jayme, Jared, Sarah, Katie, Benjamin and Samantha Rossignol; and one great-grandson, Chandler Keling.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Travis Rossignol.
