AUBURN – An Auburn driver distracted by a sneeze collided into the back of another vehicle on Hotel Road on Monday afternoon.

Carolyn Bloom, 57, of 226 Gamage Ave. “admitted she was sneezing and did not see” Ashley Turcotte’s car ahead of her waiting to turn left onto Merrow Road, according to the police report. Turcotte, 21, resides at 15 Adolph St. in Lewiston.

Both drivers complained of neck, back and chest pains, the report stated.

Bloom was headed north about 3:15 p.m. with Brian Monzel as a passenger, according to the report.

Damage to Turcotte’s 1998 Honda was estimated at $4,000; to Bloom’s 2004 Subaru $3,000.
