WEST ROXBURY, Mass. – Robert E. Federico, 76, passed away silently on Sunday, July 2, at the V.A. Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Solon on April 17, 1930, the son of Angelo and Cecilia (Gerion) Federico. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School and served in the U.S. Army. On Nov. 10, 1983, he married the former Tamara Veilleux in Waterville, where they made their home.

He was a well respected Lewiston patrol officer for 13 years leaving the force in 1969. His later working years, he worked as a foreman and superintendent for Union 327 in construction, working on major projects such as Cousins Island Dam, Maine Yankee plant and International Paper Co.

Although he was a man of few words, he loved his children, stepchildren and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years; two sons, David “Rocky” and his wife, Jacqueline, of Poland and Gary “Dusty” of Monmouth; three daughters, Linda Federico of Lewiston, Diane Nadeau and her fiance, Ed O’Donnell of Lewiston and Brenda Markee and her husband, Chris, of Monmouth; one stepdaughter, Sherry Burgess and her husband, Larry, of Oakland; seven grandchildren, Tobey, Chad, Stacey, Jessica, Brittany, Kelin and Deni; seven step-grandchildren, Liza, Sara, Kevin, Carl, Cole, Morgan and Anthony; three great-grandchildren, Devon, Madison and Brooklyn.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister; and three stepdaughters. A private service was held for family at Gallant’s Funeral Home in Waterville.
