PARIS – Central Maine Community College’s Western Maine Center in South Paris will begin its second summer session on July 10. Classes end the week of Aug. 27. There are still openings in principles of marketing, college writing, business math and interpersonal communications courses. Each course carries three college credits, which can be applied to a degree or certificate program at CMCC or another accredited college or university.
“This is a great way for students who are home for the summer to get some credits toward their degree, while they’re here – and at a very reasonable cost,” said Barbara Livingston, Western Maine College Center coordinator. The decision about whether course credits can be applied to a specific program, degree or college must be made by the accepting institution.
Courses available at the Western Maine Community College Center are college writing on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8:55 p.m. ($309.60, plus books), interpersonal communication on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8:55p.m. ($287.40, plus books), principles of marketing on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:15p.m. ($287.40, plus books) and Business Math on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 11:55 a.m. ($287.40, plus books).
Other courses currently open and that will be taught on Central Maine Community College’s Auburn campus include introduction to computer applications on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, principles of marketing, Web development, college writing, basic mathematics, geometry and trigonometry, critical thinking, developmental psychology, and introduction to sociology. In addition, several machine tool technology courses are offered. A complete list of courses available for both summer and fall can be found at www.cmcc.edu, by clicking on “Course Offerings.” Registration can be done by mail, online and by telephone at 207-755-5292 or 800-831-2002.
