MEXICO – Roger Whitehouse, broker and owner of Riverside Realty at 152 River Road, has been selected as the 2006 Realtor of the Year by the Mountain Council of Realtors.
Whitehouse is the 2005-2006 president of the Mountain Council of Realtors encompassing towns of the western Mountains to the Farmington area. He was selected from a group of approximately 127 Realtors.
Whitehouse has been a broker since the mid-1980s. He started Riverside Realty in April 2003. He retired from the the Maine Department of Labor after 28 years of service, 11 of them as a local office manager. He served four years as a radioman in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1971.
Whitehouse has a bachelor of science degree in business administrative services and is a graduate of Husson College.
He was vice president of the River Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2003 and 2004. He also served as past president of organizations such as the Western Maine Management Club, the Maine Chapter of the International Association of Personnel Security, and chairman of the Maine Department of Labor’s Award and Recognition Committee. He received national recognition with the Unsung Hero Award from Washington, D.C., for promoting Public Service Recognition Week through out the state in 1995.
