ROXBURY – Claude and Jean Belyea of Roxbury were honored by their children at a family gathering to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

Jean Mildred Sedgeley married Claude Jarvis Belyea on May 27, 1946 at the Mexico Congregational Church in Mexico. The maid of honor was Ruth Small and the best man was Melvin Poulin.

The family home at 87 Granite St. in Mexico was soon to be filled with children and all the activity that comes with them.

Children, Claudia Comeau, Vicki Young, Jim Belyea and Barbie Dolloff hosted the party, which was held at Aroma’s. Absent was son Steve Belyea of Austin, Texas.

Also attending were seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with their spouses and significant others.

Champagne and cake were later served at the home of Vicki and Randy Young. Vicki and daughter, Jennifer Jamison wrote a poem in honor of the occasion. Vicki read the poem and toasted their parents.
