AUBURN – A celebration of life service for JoAnn S. Mogensen, who died July 3, was held Saturday afternoon at Gracelawn Memorial Park with Marguerite Stapleton presiding.
The service began with JoAnn’s favorite music, “Try to Remember,” from “The Fantastiks,” played by Annie Antonacos. It was followed by a welcome and continued with Words of Remembrance beginning with JoAnn’s son, Mark Mogensen; granddaughter, Tiffany Overstrom; grandson, Max Mogensen; mother of Jo’s two grandchildren, Chris Gillis; Jo’s son-in-law, Bill Bretschger; Jo’s middle granddaughter, Crystal; Jo’s niece, Sharon; granddaughter, Sarah Seidelmann; and Mark’s fellow Sun Journal employees, Heather McCarthy and Carol Coultas.
The final favorite song played before the blessing was “You Never Walk Alone.”
Jo’s grandson, Max, cooked his grandmother’s favorite cookies and those in attendance were invited to take one in honor of JoAnn’s love of cooking at the conclusion of the service. A reception of fellowship followed the service at JoAnn’s home at Old Carriage Estates in Auburn.
Arrangements were by Dillingham and Son Memorial Chapel and Tribute Center, 62 Spring St., Auburn.
