OXFORD – Erma G. Lowe, 81, of Oxford, died Saturday, July 8, at her home.
She was born in Woodstock on Dec. 11, 1924, the daughter of Winfield and Vera Farnum Buck. She attended schools in Woodstock.
She married Walter Lowe, who passed away in June 1946. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Albert Lowe, in Oct. 1973.
She worked as a spot welder in the Portland Shipyard during World War II. She had worked at B.E. Cole Shoe Shop and also at Tom Ryan Trading Post on Main Street in Norway, where she worked for many years, retiring in 1981.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, who enjoyed country music and dancing, camping, and fishing.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Jr. and Veronica Lowe of Mechanic Falls, Arthur and Laura Lowe of West Poland, and Paul and Penny Lowe of Oxford; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Poland of Milton Plantation; several nieces and nephews; and her companion for many years, Morris Twitchell of Oxford.
She was predeceased by her sister, Christina Tuttle; and a brother, Hollis Buck.
