I just have to say I am horrified at the article I read titled “Greene parents:1st-graders gone wild,” (June 30). All I could think was “excuse me?!”

My daughter happens to have been a first-grader last year and I kept in close contact with the teacher, including being in the classroom on occasion.

The first grade teacher my daughter was with is absolutely wonderful at her job. She displayed to me a great balance between discipline when necessary and seeing the good in each student. I am outraged that someone would have such a low opinion of Greene Central School.

My daughter spent her kindergarten in the Auburn school system and it was a bad enough experience that we sold our house and actually moved to Greene right before she started her first grade year.

Greene is very open and welcoming to parents, and my experience with first grade was nothing but superior.
