Regarding “Woodcock got boost,” June 29, I hope that your article was not an attempt to portray Chandler Woodcock as representing only a part of a divided Republican Party. I have always understood and respected the differences on some issues among us as Republicans. But I have also felt that the differences are not as great as some think.
It shows the strength of our party that we are willing to accept and respect each other on those issues where we differ in recognition that we agree on so much. I fully support Chandler Woodcock.
The Chandler I know can and will work well with all of us. Anyone would be mistaken to think that the Republican party is divided in its loyalty or support of our candidates, especially Chandler Woodcock.
We expect him to be our next governor and we will be working together to make that happen. Then we will be working together to make Maine an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
Sen. David Hastings III, Fryeburg
