GREENE – The town will hear updates on the proposals for an expansion to the IGA on Route 202 and two residential subdivisions at a public hearing and planning board meeting today.

Code Enforcement Officer Randy Ray said the planning board expects to see the final plans for the 20,000-square-foot IGA that was proposed to be built behind its current location. The proposed plan has a larger parking lot that will accommodate 111 vehicles.

The board will also hear further discussion on the proposed Country Meadow Estates, a 14-resident-lot subdivision on River Road and Moonlight Ridge, and a five-resident-lot subdivision on North Grey Road.

The hearing will start at 6 p.m. in the basement of the town office followed by a planning board meeting.

“The board is handling a big workload right now,” said Selectman Anthony Reny at a selectmen meeting Monday night. “They are doubling up their meetings to get caught up.”

Currently there is one vacancy on the planning board. All interested may contact the town office for more information.

Town Manager Charlie Noonan also asks for those residents who have not received their tax bill in the mail to contact the town office. For Greene taxpayers to receive a 5 percent discount on their taxes, payment must be returned to the town office by July 27. Tax deadline is Sept. 27.
