Kitten shower
FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Animal Shelter will hold its second annual Kitten Shower from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16, in the North Dining Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington. All are welcome.
There will be games and refreshments, and the shelter hopes the community will take gifts for the babies that are in their care. Kitten chow, toys, formula, bedding, canned food and anything else kitten-related would be welcome.
For questions or directions, contact the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Road, at 778-2638. Business hours are 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The shelter is open until 7 p.m. Thursdays during the summer.
Hunter course
OQUOSSOC – The Rangeley Guides’ and Sportsman’s Association will hold a hunter safety course at 6 p.m. starting Monday, July 24. The course will run from 6 to 9 p.m. four nights, July 24, 25 and 31 and Aug. 1, at the clubhouse on Skyway Road. The free course is open to the public. Students must attend all four nights. Students age 10 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information or to enroll, call the Rivers Edge Sports Shop at 864-5582.
