South Paris – Eva Elizabeth Culleton, 93, formerly of Poland, passed away on Sunday, July 9, surrounded by her family, at Market Square Health Care Center after a stroke. She had been a resident for the past eight years.

She was born in Raymond on May 19, 1913, the daughter of Jabez and Elmira (Strout) Small. She attended Raymond schools. On July 3, 1931, she married Thomas H. Culleton from Prince Edward Island, Canada, who passed away in 1971.

She lived in Poland most of her life, where she and Thomas raised their seven children. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved them all dearly. She was a hard working woman who, besides being a homemaker, worked at several jobs over the years, including Poland Spring Laundry, Hillcrest Poultry and Tripp Lake Girls Camp in the laundry. She enjoyed reading, cooking, walking, senior citizen trips and car rides.

For many years she was a member of the Poland Community Church, Poland Senior Citizens and the Tri-Town Senior Citizens.

She is survived by four sons, Roger Culleton and wife, Irene, of Auburn, Sidney Culleton of Oxford, James Culleton and wife, Marna, of Poland and Earland Culleton of Canaan; three daughters, Lorraine Felker and husband, Charles, of Mechanic Falls, Constance Purdy and husband, James, of Poland and Cheryl Grass and husband, Gene, of Norridgewock; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband; two daughters-in-law, Matilda and Maud; two grandchildren, Dale and Randy; two sisters, Bernice and Sarah; and a brother, Donald.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Market Square Health Care Center for the loving care they gave Eva.
