PERU – Pauline E. Chartier, 69, died Monday, July 10, at her residence on the Auburn Road, Peru, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Chester, Vt., on Nov. 24, 1936, a daughter of Carroll and Mildred (Duby) Perkins. She graduated from Bellows Falls High School and attended Community College in Montpelier, Vt.
She served as an assistant librarian at the Ludden Memorial Library in Dixfield. She was a member of the Rumford Women’s Book Club, RAAPA, Mexico Congregational Church, Women’s Auxiliary of the Rumford Hospital, the Dirigo Football Boosters Club and was a very dedicated person to her family.
She was married in Bellows Falls, Vt. on March 25, 1955, to Ronald L. Chartier, who survives of Peru. Other survivors include two daughters, Lori Chartier of Dixfield and Kathryn Rillo and husband, Jerry, of Candor, N.C.; two sons, Sheldon Chartier of Chicago, Ill. and Jason Chartier of Dixfield; four grandchildren, John Rillo of Ashboro, N.C., David Rillo and wife, DeWanda, of Ashboro, N.C., Paul Rillo and wife, Stacey, of Star, N.C. and Cameron Chartier of Dixfield; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Perkins and wife, Wilma, of Hinsdale, N.H., James Perkins and wife, Nancy, of Wardsboro, Vt. and Hugh Perkins of Westminster, Vt.; a sister, Jeanne Bedi of North Springfield, Vt.; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Perkins of California.
She was predeceased by a brother, Carroll Perkins Jr.
