NORWAY – Sally Anne Chapman, 64, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., died in Norway unexpectedly on Sunday, July 9.

She was born in Trenton, N.J. on July 10, 1941, the daughter of William and Wilma (Buck) Shadwell and was educated in New Jersey schools. She had volunteered as an archivist for the Girl Scouts of America for more than 25 years. She served as overnight operator at Hudson Valley Messaging Bureau for many years, helping in the middle of the night with home family medical emergencies. She was an avid genealogist and lived for her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Chapman of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and John Drake of Topsham; three daughters, Kristan Thomas and her husband, Bryan, of Minot, Maureen Largay and her husband, Charles, of Old Orchard Beach and Janet Chapman of Connecticut; one brother, Donald Shadwell of Pennsylvania; one sister, Susan Dublin of Bath; and four grandchildren, Michael Chapman of Connecticut and Holly, Heather and Haydn Thomas, all of Minot.
