NEW YORK – Patrick L. O’Connell, 55, of Abenaki Drive, Lisbon who has been missing since June 28, when the tractor-trailer he was driving, plunged into a creek after a culvert collapsed in upstate New York, was found Saturday, July 8.
He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 19, 1951, a son of Louis B. and Mildred “Mickey” Brown O’Connell and graduated from Lewiston High School.
He had been a mechanic at Louie Chevrolet for many years, worked in maintenance at Bath Iron Works, drove truck for Tracy Express and Preston Trucking, where he was shop steward for the Teamsters Union. He drove coast to coast for Hart Trucking and had recently been employed as a driver for Micucci Wholesale Food.
He went lobster fishing with his brother on weekends, enjoyed salt water fishing and his many friends.
He is survived by his mother, Mickey Matson of Mechanic Falls; a brother, Daniel O’Connell and his wife, Rebecca, of Harpswell; two step-daughters, Jenny St. Pierre and her husband, Joseph, of West Warwick, R.I. and Angie Norton and her husband, Randy, of Killeen, Texas; a stepbrother, Herman Smith of Alabama; several nieces and nephews; three granddaughters; and two grandsons.
He was predeceased by two step-brothers, John Annance and Russell Annance.
