AUBURN – Keith L. Rohnert, MRCM (SW), USN, Retired, 59, of West Poland, died July 11, in Auburn.
He was born July 4, 1947, to Harry and Lucille Rohnert in Lincoln, Neb. He succumbed after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He served his country for more than 30 years in the U.S. Navy, where he influenced literally thousands of sailors, young and old alike. For his dedicated service throughout his military career, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and various other individual and unit awards.
Not one to rest idly after retirement from the Navy, he trained and worked as a financial advisor for Met Life, and most recently as an account manager for Long Term Care Partners, a partnership between the companies Met Life and John Hancock that provides long-term care insurance to the military and federal employees, active and retired.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Katherine, of West Poland; his beloved children, daughter, Leah Robbins and her husband, Jim and daughter, Elizabeth Charalambous and her husband, Savvas; his son, Curtis Rohnert and his wife, Kristin; his sister, Carolyn Koepsell of New York; brother, John Rohnert of Vermont; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Charalambous and Cayden Rohnert.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Amy Rohnert in April 2002.
