AUBURN – Raymond L. Blake, 82, of Oxford, died Tuesday, July 11, at Clover Health Care Center.
He was born in Atkinson on Aug. 5, 1923, the son of Raymond W. and Effie M. Palmer Blake. He attended schools in Dover-Foxcroft and graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1941. He had been employed at Pratt-Whitney Co. in East Hartford, Conn., for many years retiring in January 1983.
He enjoyed making jewelry, golfing, and with his wife Annette, traveling across the country in his RV. He faithfully served his country during World War II in the Navy. He married Annette Thibodeau in 1947.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Cynthia Johnston and her husband, John, of Oxford; three sons, Larry and his wife, Marianne, of Groveland, Fla., Richard and his wife, Barbara, Donald and his wife, Amy, all of Manchester, Conn.; one brother, Harold and his wife, Irene, of Eastover, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
