PORTLAND (AP) – Maine drug agents seized $300,000 worth of cocaine and arrested three people early Thursday, culminating a six-month investigation into drugs flowing into Portland from the Atlanta area, officials said.

Charged with aggravated trafficking in cocaine were Chrystal Jones, 23, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Ahmed Abdi Shaur, 25, and Mohamed Abdi Abukar, 21, both of Portland, said Roy E. McKinney, director of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Drug agents staked out the Concord Trailways bus terminal when Jones arrived shortly after midnight and moved in when the three left in a rental car.

The three, who were held on $25,000 bail apiece at the Cumberland County Jail, were part of group that was bringing powder cocaine to Greater Portland, where it was processed into crack cocaine for local distribution, McKinney said in a statement.

More than 3 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $300,000 was seized from the car after it was stopped by Portland police, he said.
