GREENWOOD – Carla Jane (Morgan) Martin, 53, of Greenwood, passed peacefully at her home in Greenwood on Wednesday, July 12, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on April 10, 1953, in Norway, to Edgar and Julia (Briggs) Morgan. She was educated in Woodstock and Greenwood schools, graduating from Telstar Regional High School in 1971.
She was employed with area wood mills, including Stowell Wood Products, until it closed in 1989, and Echo Wood products, until she was diagnosed with Ankylosis Spondylitis (arthritis of the spine) in 1990. At that time she became a full-time wife and mother to her son, Luke, whom she adored. She married her true love, Clark B. Martin on May 26, 1979. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas.
She loved camping with her husband and other family members, gambling trips to Connecticut, shopping trips with her sisters and spending time with her loved ones. Carla will always be known as a compassionate and caring person, especially when it came to animals. She adopted her best four legged friend, Molly, from the Cocker Spaniel Rescue League.
She will be truly missed by her husband, Clark Martin of Greenwood; son, Luke Martin of Portland; daughter, April Martin of Auburn; two sisters, Marcia Monk and her husband, Percy, of Bryant Pond and Gloria Robinson and her husband, Royce, of Groton, Conn.; two brothers, Gerald Johnson and his wife, Virginia, of Bryant Pond and Charles Johnson and his wife, Wanda, of Greenwood; and her best friend, Molly.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Shirley Seames in 2003.
