FARMINGTON – Stephen C. Bryant, 56, of Farmington Falls, died Saturday, July 1, at Franklin Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Jan. 14, 1950, in Farmington, a son of Vance A. Bryant and Hope B. (Pillsbury) Goings.
He served on the Livermore Falls Police Department and as a deputy for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department since 1989. He also served on the Farmington Falls, Farmington and Wilton Fire departments.
He became a member of the Maine Lodge No. 20 AF & AM in 1983. Steve especially enjoyed harassing everyone in good humor. It was his favorite pastime. He enjoyed going to hunting camp with his buddies, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. He loved family get-togethers.
He enjoyed car racing at Oxford Plains Speedway and never missed a race and was avid fan of NASCAR on TV.
In addition to his mother, Hope Goings of Farmington Falls and his father, Vance Bryant and his wife, Helen, of Dryden; he is survived by four brothers, Robert H. Goings and his wife, Terese, of Hookset, N.H., Gary Bryant and his wife, Nancy, of Temple, Darryl Bryant of Dryden and Scott Bryant and his wife, Leona, of Dryden; three sisters, Kim L. Mosher and her husband, Richard, of Temple, Karen G. Wolfe and her husband, Jonathan, of New Sharon and Kathi L. Caton and her husband, Robert, of Avon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his dad, Harry Goings; brother, Randall V. Bryant; grandparents, Ronald and Lurenia Bryant and Leon and Frances Pillsbury.
