BAR HARBOR – David “Dave” C. Lelansky, 45, died unexpectedly, July 13, in Bar Harbor.
He was born Oct. 16, 1960, in Auburn, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Blood) Lelansky.
Dave had an infectious enthusiasm for life. He was a loyal friend to everybody and will be missed by his loving wife, Laura, dog, Remy, and their two horses, Quinn and Rossi.
He was a member of the Northeast Harbor Masonic Lodge 208.
He was an avid skier. He enabled other people to enjoy skiing. He was a ski racer at the Lyndonville Institute and at the University of Vermont. In later years, he managed the Ski Rack and then sold skis at Sugarloaf. He has been a tent installer for parties and weddings since he was 14 years old. He owned and operated Southwest Harbor Tent Rentals.
He is survived by his beloved wife and friend of 12 years, Laura L. (Ingerson) Lelansky; his father and stepmother, Joseph Lelansky and Linda of Auburn; three brothers, Gregory Lelansky of Winthrop, William Lelansky and wife, Becky, of Auburn and John Lelansky and wife, Kathy, of Turner; mother-in-law, Harriett (Morrill) of Yarmouth; father-in-law, Lawrence Ingerson of Freeport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth (Blood) Lelansky.
