LEWISTON – Richard D. “Bud” Libby Sr., 50, of Lewiston passed away peacefully July 12, at his home.

Richard was born Oct. 12, 1955, in Lewiston and raised in Turner. He graduated from Leavitt High School in 1973. After graduating, he moved to Massachusetts, where he met his future wife Donna Davenport. They were married in 1974, in Abbington, Mass.

He was employed with the Boston Globe and Stride-Rite while living in Massachusetts. He later returned to Maine with his family and worked at Hi-Style Caterers and White Rock Distilleries. Although his years on Earth were short, Bud always lived life to the fullest. Some of his adventures included a cruise through the Caribbean and a road trip cross country. Bud had a great love of music and went to many concerts through the years ranging from Metallica, Phish, Pearl Jam and Willie Nelson. He was very loved by his children and many brothers and sisters. He had a great joy for his two grandchildren. His sense of humor will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Libby of Auburn; his daughter, Jessica Libby of Auburn; his son, Richard Libby Jr. and his wife, Tracey, of Auburn; his mother, Elizabeth Libby of Sabattus; grandchildren, Cole Gagne and Kendra Libby, both of Auburn; his brothers and sisters include, June Rhoades of Marblehead, Mass., Ronald Libby of Lewiston, Gary Libby of Somerville, Mass., Barbara Lavoie and husband, Roland, of Sabattus, Donna Roberge and husband, David, of Milton, N.H., Patricia Fawyer of Jay, Daniel Libby and wife, Dot, of Harlingen, Texas, Sharon Peterson of Epping, N.H., Belinda Kerr and husband, Lee, of Augusta, Cheryl Davis of Lewiston, Cynthia Libby of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Kimberly and Rodney Dulac, of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his father, Everett Libby; and his sister, Doris Toelken.
