DURHAM – Paul and Dorothy Silvius of Durham recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

The event was planned by children of the couple, Helen Lord, Priscilla Higgins and Paulina Carr.

Mr. Silvius and the former Dorothy Brown were married on June 20, 1936, at the home of the bride’s sister in Auburn.

In addition to their three daughters, the couple has seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Silvius was self-employed and is currently retired. He enjoys making things on a lathe, going for motorcycle rides and playing the violin with friends.

Mrs. Silvius is a retired teacher and enjoys knitting, kayaking and doing word-find puzzles.
