LEWISTON – Cecil W. Boucher, 90, of 46 Bolster St., Auburn, died Thursday, July 13, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Auburn, on May 28, 1916, the son of William and MarieAnge Carrier Boucher. He was educated in Auburn schools and studied business accounting at Bliss Business College.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and he took part in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns and played in the 8th Infantry Division band.
He was married June 21, 1947, to Alice C. Dennis, who predeceased him June 23, 2002.
He was employed at Maine State Motors in Lewiston and worked at Shapiro Brothers Shoe Co., Sableman Heel Co. and later at Knapp Shoe Co.
He was a member of the Auburn Catholic community at Sacred Heart Church, American Legion Post 153 of New Auburn and Summit Golf Club in Poland, where he won several trophies.
He enjoyed playing clarinet and saxophone, taking care of his home and yard, doing puzzles and listening to classical music.
He is survived by his son, Donald D. Boucher and wife, Cheryl, of Lewiston; and a granddaughter, Susan M. Boucher.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline C. Boucher, in 1992; and three brothers, Maurice, Marcel and Bertrand Boucher.
