LEWISTON – Luis Nazario Mercado, 83, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, July 12, at d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born in Puerto Rico on May 20, 1923, the son of Valois Nazario and Wensesla Mercado. He grew up in Puerto Rico prior to moving to Lewiston more than 40 years ago.

He worked for many years for the city of Lewiston Public Works Department.

He is survived by many brothers and sisters from New York and from Puerto Rico.
