SCARBOROUGH – William A. Reagan III, 64, of Anderson Street, Portland, died Saturday, July 15, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough.

He was born in Portland, a son of William A. and Mary H. Derrig Reagan. William attended Cathedral Grammar School and was a 1961 graduate of Portland High School. He was a member of three state championship swim teams at Portland High School.

William was a military veteran, who served as a Navy SEAL.

Following his military service, William began working for the Local 29 Boilermakers Union as a boilermaker. His career allowed him to travel extensively across the United States.

He was a member of the Harold T. Andrews American Legion Post and the Paul C. Malia American Legion Post, the Portland Eagles Club and a member of the Portland Boys and Girls Club Alumni. William also loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and golf.

Survivors include a son, Casey Reagan of Lisbon; a daughter, Katheryn Reagan of Lisbon; a brother, Michael E. Reagan and his wife, Alice, of Portland; a sister, Anne D. Reagan of Portland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
