LEE, N.H. – Ben Rowe of Turner made American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model history Tuesday night at New Hampshire’s Lee USA Speedway by winning the Re/Max Alliance 100, his third consecutive victory.
The rare midweek event was the completion of a race started on May 21. Jeremy Harclerode, 23, of New Market, N.H. finished second after passing Mark Lamberton with less than five laps remaining.
Harclerode, in the first 100 lap race of his career, made a late charge at Rowe, but fell short by about two car lengths.
Completing the top five were ACT Tour point leader, Jean-Paul Cyr from Milton, Vt., and 63 year-old Joey Laquerre from E. Montpelier, Vt.
Rowe’s previous ACT victories included the $10,000 ACTion Super Series race at Sanair Super Speedway on July 9 and the White Mountain 100 at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The second generation racer led the entire 100-lap distance at the 3/8-mile oval.
“I can’t believe I won this race, especially with the caliber of the competition. I love racing with ACT. The drivers are great. We’re having a lot of fun, especially going to the new tracks,” said Rowe, 31.
“I’m disappointed I won’t be able to go for four in a row at Airborne on Saturday. I’ll be back when ACT heads to Oxford (July 29).”
