WOODSTOCK – A policy allowing Big Concord Pond camp owners to use ATVs on Concord Pond Road was extended for another year by selectmen Tuesday.

The policy came into effect in the fall of 2005 for a one-year trial period with extension dependent on how ATV traffic used the road.

Town Manager/Road Commissioner Vern Maxfield said the road shows no unusual wear and riders were respecting the road and riding within safe speeds.

Present at the meeting was camp owner and camp association member William Dolloff, who told the board he and his neighbors have appreciated being able to use the road and agreed as a group to respect it. He thanked selectmen for their support.

In other business, Maxfield said the installation of seven culverts on a half-mile section of Old County Road is complete and reclaiming of the section is ready to start.

Maxfield said work will include grinding and repaving a one-half mile section of the road from the Greenwood Town Line to a point near Geff Inman’s home.
