WASHINGTON – An Associated Press story on Wednesday’s A9 about the U.S. Senate’s passage of a bill to expand federal funding for stem-cell research, incorrectly identified Maine Republicans Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins as staunch abortion opponents. Both senators are pro-choice and both voted for the bill to expand federal funding. It was incorrectly reported by the Sun Journal.
