LEWISTON – Irene J. Morin, 74, a resident of 454 Mechanic Falls Road, Oxford, formerly of Auburn, died Wednesday evening, July 19, in the Emergency Room of Central Maine Medical Center after a long battle with cancer with her loving family by her side. She is now together with her husband, Eddie, and the Lord in Heaven.
She was born in Auburn, June 14, 1932, the daughter of Alfred and Helena (Bizier) Pratt.
She was a self-employed daycare provider in Auburn and was a foster parent for more than 35 years until her retirement.
She made her home with her daughter, best friend, and care giver, Pauline Paladino after moving from Auburn in 2003.
Survivors include one son, Eddy Morin Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Livermore Falls; three daughters, Pauline Paladino and her husband, Gary, of Oxford; Alison Morin of Auburn, and Gina Morin and significant other, Tammy Grover, of Oxford; three sisters, Rita Bean of Dixfield, Doris Lachance of Auburn, and Jeannine Lacharite and her husband, Alfred, of Bowdoin; eight grandchildren, Eddy Morin III, Shawn Morin, Andrew Morin, Stefan Paladino, Sheila Doughty, Caitlin Knight, Sarah Paladino, and Shirley Paladino; six great-grandchildren, Travis Morin, Ryan Morin, Desiree Morin, Mikala Morin, Michelle Morin-Levesque and Chloe Doughty.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eddy Morin Sr., on May 24, 2004.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Miller and Dr. Erickson and their staffs as well as the M1 Staff of CMMC, and the caregivers of Androscoggin Home Health for the professional care and support given to Irene during her illness.
