BURBANK, Calif. (AP) – “The Tonight Show” had an unscripted moment when a woman from the audience walked up to Colin Farrell as he was talking to host Jay Leno.

The 30-year-old actor quickly escorted her off stage and asked for security.

“She said something to Colin Farrell that no one heard, then he took her by the elbow, led her off stage, asked the cameramen to turn off their cameras and asked for security,” said Molly Mattaini, who was visiting from St. Paul, Minn.

“Tonight Show” spokeswoman Tracy St. Pierre said Thursday’s incident won’t be broadcast.

The woman was detained by a Burbank police officer hired by NBC to provide security, but was not arrested “at the request of NBC,” said police Sgt. Carlos Gomez.

Farrell’s publicist did not immediately return messages left after business hours.

Mattaini, 16, said Farrell returned to the stage and apologized to the audience.

“He sat back down and said, ‘My first stalker,’ and Jay Leno said, ‘Welcome to celebrity,”‘ Mattaini said.

Farrell remained on stage the rest of the show, appearing “very calm, very collected,” Mattaini said. Later in the evening, he appeared at the premiere of his new movie, “Miami Vice.”

James Bond

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The new James Bond hasn’t even had his first martini yet and he’s already got another job.

The producers behind “Casino Royale,” this fall’s return to action for agent 007, said Thursday that new star Daniel Craig will reprise the role in a second Bond flick due out May 2, 2008.

“As we wrap production on “Casino Royale,’ we couldn’t be more excited about the direction the franchise is heading with Daniel Craig,” producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a news release from Sony Pictures. “Daniel has taken the origins of Ian Fleming’s James Bond portraying, with emotional complexity, a darker and edgier 007.”

Craig, 38, was chosen last year to replace Pierce Brosnan as Bond, the British super-spy who likes his martinis “shaken, not stirred.”

The 2008 release will be the 22nd film in the action franchise, whose previous Bonds include Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton.

NEW YORK (AP) – We have a Suri Sighting.

Although Suri Cruise has not been seen in public since her April 18 birth, Leah Remini, a friend of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise and a fellow Scientologist, says she has seen the infant.

“She’s a beaming baby. She looks like Tom and Katie, she’s just beautiful,” the 36-year-old actress, star of the CBS sitcom “The King of Queens,” tells People magazine in its July 31 issue.

Remini says she held Suri during a recent visit to the couple’s home in Los Angeles.

Cruise and Holmes are “just great parents,” Remini says. “There wasn’t a second she was out of their arms except when I held her.”

A Cruise child, typically, keeps a low profile. His two older children – from his marriage to Nicole Kidman – weren’t photographed until 1996, when Connor was 1 and Isabella was 3.

Cruise spokesman Arnold Robinson has asked for privacy for Suri.

If and when Cruise, 44, and Holmes, 27, decide to introduce their daughter to the world, “it will be at their discretion and not anybody else’s,” he told The Associated Press recently.

NEW YORK (AP) – Though Justin Timberlake says he no longer speaks to ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, he’s still rooting for her.

“I wish her well, and I want to see her win,” Timberlake tells GQ magazine in its August issue, on newsstands July 25.

“I don’t think you can ever count somebody like her out,” he says of Spears, who broke down in tears during a recent interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer. “Because she may appear one way, but she’s very clever.”

Timberlake, 25, fell for Spears, now 24 and pregnant with her second child with husband Kevin Federline, when they were preteens in “The Mickey Mouse Club.”

“I was in love with her from the start,” he tells the magazine. “I was infatuated with her from the moment I saw her.”

After a public romance, the couple broke up in 2002.

“When we initially parted ways I felt like she had a couple opportunities to just sort of stick up for me, and she didn’t,” Timberlake says. “Which is fine. But at that time, you know, I fought back.”

Timberlake sang about their split in “Cry Me a River,” from his top-selling 2002 solo debut, “Justified.”

Today, he remembers the Spears Years as “so high school,” compared with his “adult” relationship with now-girlfriend Cameron Diaz, 33.

“For me, this time around, it’s been important to stay, at least as much as I can, out of the limelight,” he says. “And I think that’s made it more enriching. I’ve received so much more from it by keeping it just between the two people it’s supposed to be between.”

Timberlake’s second solo album, “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” will be released Sept. 12.

NEW DELHI (AP) – It’s been an up and down time for Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai lately.

The 32-year-old actress – a former Miss World – has lost weight, gained weight and lost it again for successive film roles, the Times of India newspaper reported Thursday.

Rai was most recently asked to shed a few pounds for “Dhoom 2 (Big Bang 2),” which is being shot in Namibia.

Her personal trainer, Deepika, is putting “Ash,” as she is known in Bollywood, through two-hour workouts starting at 4 a.m. each morning.

“Ash is a very dedicated actress and she is working to get into the skin of her role,” Rai’s manager, Hari Singh, told the newspaper.

The actress had picked up some extra pounds for “Guru,” which she was filming before heading to Namibia for “Dhoom 2.”

DALLAS (AP) – Julia Roberts is making another debut: this time as a spokeswoman for alternative fuel.

Dallas-based Earth Biofuels announced that Roberts will become a spokeswoman for the company and chair its new advisory board.

“It’s very important that we expand our use of clean energy and make a long-term commitment to it. Biodiesel and ethanol are better for the environment and for the air we breathe,” Roberts said in a statement released this week.

Roberts joins fellow Oscar winner Morgan Freeman and country singer Willie Nelson in promoting the use of renewable fuels. Freeman and Nelson are on Earth Biofuels’ board of directors.

Earth Biofuels produces biodiesel and is the exclusive distributor of Nelson’s signature brand of biodiesel. The soy derivative is mostly sold in a blend called B20, which is 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent diesel.

Earth Biofuels said it will work with Roberts on a program to encourage the use of biodiesel in more than 500,000 diesel school buses nationwide.

The 38-year-old actress made her Broadway debut this spring in a revival of Richard Greenberg’s “Three Days of Rain.”

Her screen hits include “Pretty Woman,” “Steel Magnolias” and “Erin Brockovich” – for which she won an Oscar in 2001. She gave birth to twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, in November 2004. She is married to cinematographer Danny Moder.

MORZINE, France (AP) – Jake Gyllenhaal is the latest celebrity to team up with Lance Armstrong on the Tour de France. He follows Robin Williams and Prince Albert of Monaco.

Gyllenhaal, the 25-year-old star of “Brokeback Mountain,” “Jarhead” and “Donnie Darko,” joined Armstrong, the seven-time Tour winner, earlier this week.

“We became friends just recently, a couple of months ago,” Gyllenhaal told The Associated Press. “He’s a pretty straightforward guy. He called me the other day and said like, “You wanna go riding?”‘

Gyllenhaal took up cycling seriously three months ago, he said, as training for a new film. Keeping up with the 34-year-old Armstrong in the French Alps proved successful at first – until the Texan started pedaling faster.

“When we first started riding it was pure adrenalin that kept me going,” Gyellenhaal said. “Then, up the hill, across the way, you could see him like a plane in the sky, he was moving so fast.”
