LEWISTON – Ethel Irene Brown Lapointe, 95, formerly of 3064 Hotel Road, Auburn, died Sunday, July 23, at Marshwood Health Care Center, where she resided for the past month.

Born in Auburn on Dec. 10, 1910, a daughter of Frank M. and Stella Whitney Brown, she was educated at Stevens Mills and Webster schools.

She was a member of the Auburn Catholic Community at Sacred Heart Parish and was married to Ronaldo O. Lapointe, who died in 1976.

She was also a member of First Auburn, Remember When, Robin Dow and Lewiston Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved doing things for others.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Lorraine Lapointe and Wilfred and June Lapointe, all of Auburn; her grandchildren, Rachel and Paul Remillard, Deborah and Ted Christie, Larry Lapointe and Ronald and Samantha Lapointe; her great-grandchildren, Nicole, Maxwell and Riley Lapointe and Nicholas Lapointe.

She was predeceased by two sisters and six brothers.
