UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) – A man wanted in the weekend armed robbery of a Rhode Island bank was apprehended a few hours later while playing cards at the Mohegan Sun casino.

Vincent Rampone, 52, of Cranston, R.I., was spotted at a blackjack table just before 8 p.m. Saturday by casino security workers who had been given photos of the suspect, state police said.

Rampone was wanted in the armed robbery of a Cranston bank around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Authorities said he was carrying about $1,400 that had serial numbers that matched the stolen cash.

State police said Rampone confessed to the crime after his arrest. He’s being held on a $200,000 bond on fugitive and narcotics charges and is due in court on Monday.
