PARIS – The Western Foothills Land Trust will hold its 18th annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Western Maine University and Community College Center, 232 Main St., South Paris. The public is invited.

During the brief business meeting, in addition to welcoming new board members, reviewing the year’s accomplishments and other official business, the trust will celebrate the completion of a conservation easement donated by Patty and Sandie Page that will protect 583 wooded acres and considerable shoreline on Marshall Pond in Oxford.

The largest conservation easement donated to date to the trust, the Page Easement will nearly double the total acreage protected by the trust in western Maine.

At 7 p.m., following the business meeting, Maine State Geologist Woody Thompson will present a slide lecture, “The Glacial Origins of Western Maine.” The meeting is free, and refreshments will be served. For additional information, call 739-2124 or e-mail [email protected].
