Lewiston – Therese J. Dube, 67, went to meet her savior face to face on Monday, July 24, after a courageous and faith-filled battle with breast cancer.
Terry was born on Jan. 5, 1939, in Lewiston, a daughter of the late Gedeon and Marie Bizier Gagnon. She attended Auburn schools and later married Donald T. Dube at St. Louis Church in Auburn on Feb. 7, 1959.
She was employed for 30 years at Hudson Bus Lines as a moderator, where each of the children held a special place in her heart. In her earlier years, she worked in local shoe shops. She was a member of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, where she used her many talents to serve the community. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, drawing and jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald T. Dube; her five children and their families, her daughter Monique Meyers and her husband, Steven, and their children, Zachary and Jonathan of Gorham; daughter, Claire Durgin and her children, Nathan, Caitlin, and her daughter, Jada; daughter Pauline Cote and her husband, David, and their children, Shannon, Chad and Tyler; daughter Donna Dube and her children, Justin Dube and Amie Daniels; son Paul and his fianc, Therese Delcourt and his children, Shawn Cressey and Caleb Dube-Dubois, all of Lewiston; her sisters, Yolande LaBonte and Bernadette Vallieres, both of Lewiston; her brothers, Raoul Gagnon of Florida, Reginald Gagnon of Auburn and Bertrand Gagnon and wife, Gisele, of Lewiston; her sisters-in-law, Joan (Gagnon) Gagne of Auburn and Venise Dube of Lewiston; and a brother-in-law Richard E. Dube and wife, Elizabeth, of Lewiston; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; her granddaughter, Shantelle Elise Dube in November 2005; and by brothers and sisters, Roger, Roland, Maurice, Lucienne, Rose, Jeannette and Liane (Sister Elise) Gagnon.
Terry’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Modaressi and the staff at St. Mary’s Cancer Center and Trudy Newton and her team from the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
