CARTHAGE – Two Old Friends, Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, will appear at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the New England Celtic Arts Center in South Carthage.

McHale and Hutchins, known as Mac and Hutch, have recently joined forces to sing and play songs from Ireland, the mountains and the sea. They were the original founders of Northeast Winds and they traveled and recorded with the Winds for 18 years.

For the last 17 years, Mac has headed the group, Mac McHale and the Old-Time Radio Gang. Hutch has been a part of the Angel Band, an Irish music group.

They will perform some of their favorites from the Northeast Winds as well as some old-time traditional country music. Mac and Hutch will play the banjo, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodran and the octave mandolin. The program will include some favorite Irish sea songs, picking instrumentals and sing-alongs.
