OXFORD – A 6-year-old boy injured his leg after he ran his ATV into some rocks and fell off the vehicle Tuesday morning, a paramedic with Oxford Rescue said Tuesday.

Ty P. Heaward was riding a child’s ATV in his yard at 270 Tiger Hill Road, rescue Chief Scott Hunter said.

“He looked away from where he was going, ran into rocks, and fell off the ATV,” rescue member Peggy Frost said.

The boy was wearing a helmet and was being supervised, according to Frost. He was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway for treatment. Because he is a juvenile, the hospital could not release any information on him, a nursing supervisor said Tuesday night.
