Carnival coming

MEXICO – Moontide Water Festival will host a carnival featuring Cushing Amusements Thursday through Sunday, July 27 to 30, behind the Fire Department off Route 2. The carnival will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Cancer support

RUMFORD – Lean On Me, a support group for local cancer patients and their families, meets from 6 to 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at Rumford Hospital, Room 351.

The newly organized support group is designed to help individuals ranging from the recently diagnosed, to those not so recently diagnosed coping with the disease, to those in remission and their families understand and cope with obstacles and confrontations that occur.

Book sale

RUMFORD – Friends of the Rumford Library will hold its annual book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, in the public room. Books will be displayed by catergories. The Friends’ next event will be another special film evening in the fall.
