This is in response to Jeffrey Grover’s letter, published July 16.
Grover made the statement that he never realized how prevalent ignorance is in the Twin Cities, and asked how Catholics would feel if they were on the receiving end of such hatred.
My question is, what does that incident have to do with Catholics?
The Muslim community considered the incident as isolated.
If anything, I believe the Catholic community was appalled by the stupidity of that demented act.
I wonder if Grover realized that sometime in the mid-1940s, the Maine Legislature passed a law forbidding French-Catholics from speaking French in public buildings?
We know hatred.
