I personally do not agree with the reason our leaders chose to go to war in Iraq. I do, however, honor and respect our troops who are doing their duty as commanded by their superiors. That is why I was shocked to see the Sun Journal dishonor the memory of S.Sgt Dale Kelley Jr. by naming him as the father of robbery suspect Christopher Kelley.
What could you possibly hope to gain by relating that useless information? Christopher Kelley’s arrest has brought shame to his family, and this paper has added insult to that injury by mentioning that he was the son of S.Sgt. Dale Kelley Jr., not just once, but twice in a five-paragraph article.
This paper has been reduced to the status of supermarket tabloid in my opinion.
You cannot diminish the memory of Dale Kelley Jr. in the hearts and minds of those who knew and worked with him. One can only hope, by the insensitive reporting of this newspaper, that what he did for his country will not be diminished in the memory of those who did not know him.
