SKOWHEGAN – Reginald Palmer, 76, of Rumford, died Monday, July 24, at the Woodlawn Nursing Care Center.

He was born April 21, 1930, in Starks the son of Leslie E. and Lucille (Locke) Palmer. He received his education in Dixfield schools and was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He married Roberta Drury who predeceased him in 1985.

He had been employed at Oxford Paper Co. and later at Diamond Match International as a machinist. He was a member of the Robert Shand VFW Post, Rumford and was also a member of the Eagles Club. He enjoyed playing the guitar and building and flying model airplanes.

He is survived by his mother, Lucille, of Dixfield; his daughter, Sandy Summers and her husband, Daniel, of Skowhegan; two sisters, Norma J. Anderson and her husband, the Rev. Roland V. Anderson of Cleveland, Ohio and Marilyn E. Montgomery of Greenville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Dylan Wiseman and Logan Summers; two stepgrandchildren, Danielle Summers and David Summers; and several nieces and nephews.
