SALEM, N.H. (AP) – A Salem construction company has been fined $10,000 after an employee was injured in a trench collapse two months ago.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited George Merrill & Sons for four safety violations the agency says contributed to the May 30 cave-in at a construction site in Salem.

Employee Paul Radulski was laying a waterline to a new house when one side of the trench caved in and buried him from the hips down in about 4 feet of clay, gravel and mud.
