LEWISTON – Roger W. Lemieux, 81, of 60 Lisbon St., Lisbon, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 25, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on April 4, 1925, the son of Joseph and Florida (Duchesneau) Lemieux. He had been a resident of Hartford, Conn., for many years and was well-known at Hartford Sealtest Corp. before moving to Lisbon.

Before moving to Lisbon, he graduated from Lewiston NYA mechanic shop course in 1940. He was also a carpenter, having built his own house. In his younger years he played hockey for the Lewiston Derby Club.

Roger enjoyed his grandchildren so very much and also enjoyed traveling. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 106 Wallace Assembly, Elks Lodge 371 and Ste. Croix, Lewiston and Sabattus Senior Citizens, Covenant 50 and Horizon 55.

Survivors include his wife, the former Madeleine F. Couture, whom he married on May 10, 1958, of Lisbon; three sons, Roger Lemieux, and his wife, Joan, of Arundel, Robert Lemieux, and his wife, Denise, of Sabattus and Roland Lemieux of Lisbon; and six grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Nathan, Benjamin, Erica and Katie Lemieux.

He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Laurette Lemieux; and by one brother, Robert V. Lemieux.
