SEBAGO – More than 125 family members and friends gathered at Point Sebago Resort on Sebago Lake recently to celebrate the 90th birthday of Gertrude Baribault Frateschi.
Presiding over the event, her daughter Lisa Frateschi Karson of Carp, Canada, gave a synopsis of her mother’s life. During the banquet, a video produced by her daughter, Lola Lawrence of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., was presented.
Frateschi’s granddaughters, Rhonda Lawrence of Rhode Island and Brenda Theberge of Tacoma Lakes, sang a medley of songs. Sandra Lally, a granddaughter from Hampton, N.H., gave a speech of appreciation for the dedication and love of her grandmother. While the birthday cake was being lit, a great-grandson, Conor Drouin of Litchfield, led the “Happy Birthday” song.

Frateschi’s six children, Lola Lawrence, Nila Stickney, Tony, Sandy Belanger, Eddie and Lisa Karson attended local grammar and high schools and hosted the birthday event.
Following the formal celebration, Ron and Sherri Bourgoin of Windham, another granddaughter, hosted a casual evening party under a lit canopy on the grounds of their lakeside home on Sebago lake.
