LEWISTON – Peaks Island photographer Arthur Fink has a passion for dance.

He spent several weeks last summer photographing at the Bates Dance Festival, and has just hung a show of his work from that event at the Chase Hall Gallery at Bates College. He is also taking photographs at this year’s dance festival.

The show, which runs until Aug. 12, is open every day and evening. There will be a reception with the artist from 3 to 6 p.m. July 30 at the gallery. The public is invited.

Fink’s work is mostly about dancers in class, rehearsing, warming up, and other activities. He prefers to document the dancer’s work, rather than just the finished result – the dance performance.

Fink’s work is in many collections, including the Portland Museum of Art.
