AUBURN – Dorothy Ashton Woodbury, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 26, after a short illness at Hospice House.
She was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Lewiston the daughter of former Lewiston Chief of Police John H. Ashton and wife, Selma.
Dot graduated from Lewiston High School in 1937, and later was active on the class reunion committee. She worked in the banking industry for many years with her final position being secretary to the president of Mid Maine Mutual Bank in Auburn.
She and her husband Don traveled extensively with the United Commercial Travelers Association. They also enjoyed the time they spent buying, selling and restoring antiques.
Family and friends will fondly remember the special times at gatherings, playing bridge, shopping and ladies day out.
She is survived by son, Donald E Woodbury Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Minot; special granddaughter, Jennifer Bradley-Woodbury-Collins and her husband, Alvin, of Apex, N.C.; sisters, Luena Dawes of Manchester and Margery Cormier and husband, Clement, of Lewiston; sister-in-law, Amy Ashton, also of Lewiston; many nieces and nephews and their families will also always hold Dot fondly and close in their hearts.
She was predeceased by husband, Donald E. Woodbury; siblings, Elinor Sterritt, Stanley Ashton, Ruth Germann, John (Jack) Ashton and Donald Ashton.
